100% disk usage

Hi

For the last several days my laptop has been showing a 100% usage on the disk drive even on idle. I know that it might reach that state under heavy load, but considering the fact that it does so on idle is a bit worrying for me. I think it is a hard disk problem but am not sure. Any advice on this would be highly helpful. If needed, I will list down the specs for my device.

dude, i had that problem i kinda still have it but its getting to 100% only sometimes and not more than one second. What i did for fixing this: disabled superfetch, windows update, windows search, bits and another thing that i dont remember. Also changed from balanced to performance mode and changed the sata cable. This is a common issue in windows 10 using a Hard Disk as i do but my SSD should be arriving by the next week, so i recommend switching to Windows 7, as windows 10 is literally sh.it!

Windows 10 is fine. It's normally either anti-virus doing a scan in the background or windows update. Check and install all updates to narrow that down and then reboot the computer once or twice for good measure afterwards.

Have you checked in Task Manager at the Disk Usage and see what's accessing the drive?
