Bf1 and CPU issues, again.

So my battlefield rig is having issues with bf1. Thought the patches fixed the game but that only made it a difference on my other rig.

All cores are pegged at 100% for almost all maps. Still quite playable though. Finding my CPU overclock aren't as stable as I though, getting bsod or what ever windows 10 does when it crashes or the game quits working.

Cpu is at 4.5 as I don't know enough about oc'ing to make 4.6/7 stable.

Set my frame limit to 100 helps a bit. Graphics are at ultra and scaling at 150, don't want to go much higher as it gets laggy. Dx12 is even worse in every way. Cards start to slow down on some maps even with the frames capped at 120 with seems to me the limit the CPU can do. Any options left?

your CPU at stock speeds is more than enough to play the game at max settings with your GTX 1080

try going back to stock clock speeds

Looks like there is two 1080s there...

i9-9900k @ 5.1GHz || EVGA 3080 ti FTW3 EK Cooled || EVGA z390 Dark || G.Skill TridentZ 32gb 4000MHz C16

 970 Pro 1tb || 860 Evo 2tb || BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900 || EVGA P2 1200w || AOC Agon AG352UCG

Cooled by: Heatkiller || Hardware Labs || Bitspower || Noctua || EKWB

Not using 1080's. Stock clock would be 3.5 and boost of 3.9. Could try it but don't see it working out.

your machine has some issues, i would suggest a full format and re-install of everything cause on my machine BF1 barely use 70% of the CPU...and i run at full settings 1440p on a GTX 1080.

Yea I can run my other rig and say that too. Do it at 1080  with a 3rd gen i7. Before the bf1 patches my 4790 seen over 80% use with a single Titan on 1440.  Using a 1080 would peg that CPU at 100 too. It's much better now but though.

Hate to do a fresh install and waste a night for the same results but I can give it a try.

Loaded defaults in bios and switched to high power profile. Forgot that this board automatically goes to xmp profile. So 103 on the clock and 41 on the multiplier. Ran a bit lower on CPU usage. Never pegged, but perfoamce was lacking barely seen over 100 frames average. Gpu's around 60%. May just go back to a single card or surround if I can keep CPU usage like this.

Stock CPU settings finally. Went down to a single card. Ultra settings still on 1080p. So a fresh install is gonna fix this?
