What operating system? (guessing Windows, going from there)

If it's an admin account, I"m not sure there is a way to reset a password without the admin password...

If it's a standard user account, go into Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> Change your Windows password

then put in the admin password when prompted to.

There are lots of programs you can download that remove the password of any windows account

I forget the name at the moment, but they definitely exist.

Just now, RadCard said:

windows 7 and its a stander account not admin

easiest way would be to log into the admin and remove the password.

its possible the hidden admin is enabled without a password (try ctrl+alt+del twice at the login screen)

if the doesnt work, start with Hirens Boot Disk, NTPassRemove is the tool you're looking for.

there are other ways, but im not going to go into it (liability reasons)
