My gaming rig is dying now. It's 10 years old. Q8400 and Strix 960OC. So, I snagged an 8700K here in Turkey. Mobos are limited here. Two ASUS Prime boards and nothing else, a few Gigabyte Aorus boards but good ones and a handful of MSI boards: SLI Plus, Gaming M5, Gaming Pro Carbon AC, Godlike. That's it. Not sure what to get. I can wait. Will buy a GTX1080Ti but again not sure which model. Doing research into cooling. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to parts: All ASUS or all MSI for example. Don't like mixing it up.

The rest will be: Kingston 2x8GB HyperX Predator 3200, Seagate Barracuda 3TB HDD, Samsung 960 EVO 500 GB SSD. Thermal Take Tough 80+ 850Watt PSU, any old DVD/R I can find. Yes, I still use an optical drive for many games when I'm feeling nostalgic. I could buy an external one if necessary.

Depending on the cooling solution I arrive at I am looking at Corsair's C-70 and 760T cases, but also at Corsair's Crystal series. They can't mount radiators in the roof without colliding with the mobo. I don't really like CM's Master/Maker series. Practical but ugly. I love the C-70 Vengeance (unsightly but probably necessary side panel) but I don't know if it can handle the cooling requirements for the infernally hot 8700K on either air or water. I'll ask about that in a different thread.

Any advice for changes to RAM or other parts would be appreciated.

Once I get the parts I'll continue showing you the build.
