Hey, So i have 2x8 3000Mhz Corsair Dominator and my current PC is haveing issues.  ihave been using a smaller pc i built for my dad to play games and it it only has 8 gb ram but it says the MB only supports 2166mhz ram. Can i put the 16 into the the slower MB. I did try this last week but the PC wont boot, So im not sure.  Thanks

What's the motherboard? but yes it should do no problems, even if it runs at 2133Mhz, if you list the exact spec it'll be easier to tell you.

Yes, h110 boards will usually only run @ 2133Mhz speed, but should work fine with those dominators. Go into BIOS, make a backup profile if possible, if not take pics of all bios screens just to be sure you can get it back to how it was. Then go to f12 IIRC and click set to defaults. Then boot it again, see if any changes. If still not accepting it, try uodating the BIOS, am guessing this is the ACTUAL cause of the non-boot... and then try again.

So i was able to update the Bios Abd it did boot with the 16 gb.  So i was also wonderind when i would click enable X.M.P it would say 300MHz but i didnt want to apply it because idont know what would happen

As I said before, I think it's a limitation on the h110 boards. And if you look at the spec sheet at MSI

* DDR4 2133 MHz and higher memory modules will only run at maximum of DDR4 2133 MHz on XMP mode due to Intel® chipset limitation
