Hey all,

I am planning to build a pc form scratch so i hoop it's not to much nonsense for to much money. that's why i would like to have some feedback on which parts i can save some money on.

But I would also like to know if it would be wiser to spend a bit more on other parts in order to be future proof.

I am starting technion so i would like to have an allround pc for games and VM's while supporting 2 monitors.

Games i play:  Star craft, company of heroes, Rome total war, witcher 3, assassin creed, gears of war 4, battlefield,  batman games, wold of Warcraft, shadow of war,  GTA and more

The stability of the game should be enjoyable, meaning that I am looking for a pc somwhere to be used from moderate to heavy use. Thus, not too fancy.

VM's i use: different Linux OS like Ubuntu,  centOS and more,  mac OS, windows 7 to 10,

Monitor: for now 1080P but maybe later 4k

processor:          Intel® Core i7-8700K, 3,7 GHZ (4,7 GHz Turbo Boost) socket 1151 processor (€399)

water cooler:      Corsair Hydro H115i (€150)

motherboard:     MSI Z370 SLI PLUS (€150)

CASE:               Nanoxia NGH Deep Silence DS 6 Rev. B Dark Black (€150 - 170)

PSU:                 be quiet! Pure Power 10 700W CM (€100)

RAM:                Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 (€170)

GPU:                1080 GTX between 1.6 GHZ / 1.8 GHZ (€600)

(I have enough store and already 2 1080P monitors)

Thank you in advance

Definitely wait for the upcoming GTX 1070ti, looks set to bury the GTX 1080. Also that power supply is massively overkill, try a 550W.

You sure you don't want Ryzen? The 1600X has the same cores and threads (its slightly slower) for about $240.

I doubt a graphics card slotted between a 1070 and 1080 will "bury" anything. It's over a year late and makes as much sense existing as the iPhone 8.

I definitely look in to the GTX 1070ti. I thought so that the power supply is a massive  overkill but i have like 10 hard drives so i can skim it down? And about Ryzen VS intel i look in to it.

A card priced at $440 with only slightly worse specs than one priced (currently) at over $500 makes perfect sense to me.

I get what you say and i will change that, but how is the overall build?

i would change that PSU to this

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/WrNypg/seasonic-focus-plus-gold-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-ssr-650fx

Also i wouldchange the case to Fractal Design Define S

Thanks I'll charge the PSU and will look for a case with more 3.5 inch bays but with similar specs. i think that's what you where aiming for.
