hello 

i have a laptop with a single channel 4gb of ram and i was thinking to add 2gb more and my question is will that work i really need more ram especially when  i brows on facebook my ram goes to 80% and will that work or not ? i am using windows 10 64bit

6GBs of RAM is fine. Just get the same type and speed.

If you look at the other stick of RAM it usually says on the stick.

Modern RAM uses a double data rate, so if your RAM is 800mhz in something like CPU-Z, I am assuming you have a 4GB DDR3 1600Mhz PC3-12800. Just match the PC3-XXXXXX speed.

open it up and take a look on the stick, your gonna have to open it to upgrade it anyway,

 

get the same speed, brand, and cas latency 

 

ideally get a set of two fours for an 8 gb paired set, as non paired sets, even if they are identical bar size can be weird
