so on monday my pc worked fine and yesterday i get home from work and it wont turn on

im obviously thinking it does the same thing my old mobo did where it wont turn on again after going into power savings mode and i turn off the psu, wait a couple of seconds, turn it back on , nothing.

so since i had some issues a couple of days ago where i had to reseat the cpu to fix it , i turn off the psu pull the cpu out and check for bent pins. all ok. i put it back in and ....nothing.

then i checked the psu with a tester and it seemed to be fine.

as i plug the psu back into the board and turn it on i noticed the network led isnt lighting up. usually network lights up as soon as there is power right?

so since my mobo isnt giving me any life signs what so ever i fear its dead but really clueless about why it would be if so

i already contacted msi but no response yet. oh i forgot to mention the details of my pc are in the signature

"You know it'll clock down as soon as it hits 40°C, right?" - "Yeah ... but it doesnt hit 40°C ... ever  😄"

I'd examine the socket if you had to reseat the CPU.  Bent pins can cause this issue.

ill check again. lets hope thats the case and i can mend it. if not lets hope theyll rma it or i might have to get a new mobo

Do you Have a secondary Power Supply?

If so try using it to see if the Mobo boots. I had a similar problem where my mobo wouldn't respond post or anything. As a last attempt I swapped out my PSU for my older one (lower wattage) which required me to remove my gpu. Thankfully it posted and when I connected my newer PSU it began to work perfectly again with no flaws.

Could work my not but it wouldn't harm to try as long as your old PSU isn't faulty...

Some people prefer a challenge, I just band my head against a wall until my method works...

Was just a suggestion as you said you have done nothing to the mobo for a while so it  could just be the issue I described or completely different as I don't use MSI Mobo's. But it up to you if you wish to use that troubleshooting if you would call it that...

Hope your Mobo kicks over.

thanks yeah im hoping i find a bent pin and can bend it back. if not hopefully at least msi will rma it but that would leave me with at least a couple days with no pc. worst case im getting a new board and probably this time around ill get the asus z270i rog since it goes better with the theme anyway and hopefully asus doesnt have a lot of problems

Hmm have you tried any troubleshooting of the Mobo without it being in the case?

Like shorting the pins to power it up with the PSU being the only thing connected to see if it's wiring from the case?

yes i have tried it on a cardboard box and also checked the power switch pins. nothing

actually taking out the case was my second move since im building the case myself i feared i have some aluminium touch the board or something. but the strange thing is iwas already running inside the case just the night before and then i put it into sleep mode and when i came back the next day it just wouldnt turn on so im really not sure what the hell happened to the system over night

Any harsh weather?  over night? and Is your board not on raised standings in the case?

by the sounds of things the board could have just given up the ghost in all fairness...

well no weather im ware of. and yes its on stand offs. well i almost wish it was dead. not literally but just not knowing is almost worse. if its dead ill order a new one and have mixed feelings and be up and running again tommorow but now i gotta tinker and hope and fidle and be frustated.

im thinking of going worst case, buying the asus, try to med the msi then sell it or rma it then sell it and either way go for the asus

Would be best option any cost lost from buying a new board could be reduced by selling the MSI if working as a refurbished board.

yeah exactly my thought so i just ordered the asus and it comes tomorrow so that give me a bit of time to tinker today and then a running system tomorrow for sure and then ill figure out if im gonna straight sell it or rma it first
