If 4 4k screens are like one 8k screen,

and 16 4k screens are like one 16k screen.

So why do the "Razer Project Valerie" with 3 4k screens is being called a 12k screen?

Because the number is measured by the horizontal length, in pixels. 4 4k screens in a square would result in a horizontal length of 8k. 3 4k screens arranged horizontally makes it 12k.

Cuz companies enjoy confusing the consumer with buzzwords even if they aren’t correct. It’s not actually 12k, just horizontally.

The number refers to approximately how many pixels there per line.

 

So I guess technically if we make a 8,294,400 x 1 screen, we can say it's an 8.3M screen.

The names have nothing to do with how many times another resolution they are
