y but the 6gb version like 80 euros more is it worth ?

yeah it's worth it.

most people say it's only needed if you run higher resolution but most people don't realize more vram also enables more polygons on smaller resolutions as well.

Disagree. Rendering games is far from just polygons. Unless it's some crazy game like Crysis with excessive use of tesellation, polygons created arent high enough in number to use noticeable amount VRAM. The most VRAM heavy thing is Anti Aliasing and texture, but with 3GB even with 2x MSAA many games can still use high textures. Ultra texture will need AA off though, but ths is not a good reason to spend so much more for extra 3GB VRAM and 8% more fps

its not just 8% though, in some titles at 1080p its 8% but in others its as high as 41% difference in frame rate
source

41% is huge, thats the difference between 100fps and 59fps, if OP doesnt want to spend the money on a 1060 6gb then he should get a 1050ti cause the 1060 3gb imo isnt worth it unless you get it for the price of a 1050ti

So what do you think should i downgrade to a 1050ti or just spend the extra money im tillting towards spending the extra amount instead of getting stuck with a 1050 ti that might not be enough in 2,3 years

id spend the extra money personally and get the 1060 6gb but if you really cant get the 1060 6gb get the 1050ti to put this into perspective the 1050ti performs like a 970 and the 1060 6gb performs like a 980, i feel both would last you years(at least 2 but it could be more depending on what games are released in the up coming years) but the 1060 6gb would obviously last longer as its a stronger card

This site is the second worst when it comes to gaming benchmarks because tests are performed with varying hardware. Hardware unboxed and some other youtube channels have done videos with 1060 3gb and 6gb comparisons and that's what you should look for.

1060 3gb is the minimal for demanding games like PUBG to run without looking terrible at reasonable fps. In the used market look for 970 as well.

If what you're saying is true about the 1060 6gb why is it the 3gb variant gets 71fps in doom vulken while the 6gb variant gets 98fps according to Gamers Nexus?

And Shadow of Mordor also performs better on the 6gb card by 13.5% according to Gamers Nexus.

Even GN recommends the 6gb 1060 over the 3gb one. I assume that's a reliable source to you.

At the end of the day it doesn't hurt to spend a little more on a card with more vram then less. No one ever complains about getting a graphics card with more vram.

Easy, dont use Vulkan. It's not the only renderer in Doom anyway.

Also tests done with presets arent that fair with the 3GB in more demanding games because they dont take VRAM limit into account and just pull more than 3GB, which means the 3GB appears worse than it is because the settings arent optimized for it. You dont pay 30% less without a few sacrifices, and reduced textures and anti aliasing are two of them.
