quick question about rooted S5

I want to update my Galaxy S5 from 5.0 to  6.0.1 but it is rooted and has TWRP installed. what i want to know is if I update it with kies it will (i think) remove root and TWRP? if so I should just be able to reroot with CF-auto-root and reinstall TWRP right?

I never use kies my entire life. Usually when i want a clean install i just download the rom from samsung website and install it with ODIN.

Instruction on how to is on my signature.

I tried a custom rom once by couldn't get a decent camera app, if I install it with ODIN dose it remove root?

ok i got the firmware from FirmWare file and all it has is the one .md5 file, there is no .dll file, is that ok?

ok one more thing, I flashed it with the stock 6.0.1 rom but now I want to root it, but do I need to unlock the bootloader? the phone was rooted before and had TWRP recovery install so i think the bootloader was already unlocked. Do you know if flashing a stock rom will re-lock the bootloader?

for rooting u dont need to unlock the bootloader just use odin and CF auto root.

To install TWRP or any other custom recovery however u'll need to unlock bootloader.
