Hi, so I was trying to flash a custom ROM, Slimroms, on my old Galaxy S3. I did all installation instructions on their website: I booted into CWM recovery, wiped all data, cache and dalvik cache, then I tried to install a zip file with the system on an sd card, this is what it says:

Installing: "the directory and name of the zip file"

Finding update package...

Opening update package...

Installing update...

E: Error in "the directory and name of the zip file"

(Status 0)

Installation aborted

I haven´t found out why is it doing this yet...

Its faulty Rom because its likely the creator must have not created an updateR script..or its just wrong update binary files if this the case try this http://xda-forum-apk-all1.blogspot.co.id/2015/04/fixcwmtwrpphilzfix-status-0-in.html

No, it didn´t work. I will try another ROM, if that is really the creator's fault

Thanks @L.Lawliet, it finally works with Lineage OS ROM. I have one last question: do I need to reinstall the rom to install gapps? The version I had on my sd card was for android 6.0, not 7.0. Can I just download and install them anytime from recovery?
