So I had a problem with my PC so I found out the only way to fix it was to reinstall windows. How do I do that and will I have to re-enter my key or anything, or will I just reset it and it will all be good. (I Have windows 10 pro)

Thanks

It's quite easy.
First backup all the stuff you want. To an external hdd or ssd.
Then burn a windows 10 iso to a USB stick (Google 'ISO to USB'). The ISO you can download from microsoft.
Boot from that USB stick by having it connected to the computer while booting. Maybe you have to press a button for a boot menu.
After this, just follow the instructions. You can enter the key after installing.

If you have a notebook or a pre-build system. You also might have a recovery system setup.
Also something you can activate during boot.

The key is digital bound to your device once you actives the key for the first time. As long as you don't replace your motherboard it should remain active.

I just recently did fresh restart/reset and seem to have fixed many issues i had before i didn't really have copy my backup of files. Even though i have Reslio sync for my important files i found the reset process was easy and pretty quick. I did have to reinstall my application but i had installer backup on my NAS so it was pretty quick to get my rig back and running.

Dear all,

Windows 10 is not, I repeat, not device bound. It's account bound. This regarding that you should login into you MS account and link it. Therefor you can re-activate your newly freshly installed new hardwary PC anytime, you can just take the license with you. I don't know for how long, maybe 10 years? Dunno, someone needs to reply on that.

And when you have a pre-build without any keys showing on any stickes or whatevery download this https://www.belarc.com/products_belarc_advisor  with this tool you can read out every key in your system. just copy paste the list, or print it out and use the keys for future use.

and for the part with the Windows 10 ISO. Google -> Media Creation Tool Windows 10 and make yourself an USB stick, no fuzz with this one. Easy as hell.

Before you need a 4GB or 8GB Stick depends on what you choose.

and for some other Windows 7 activation stuff -> Windows 10, check out this thread. At the bottom are my replies. I hope this helps someone.
