Thunderbolt 3 Update

I'd like to see a new video on the state of Thunderbolt 3. The first video on the topic does a good job of explaining the potential of the technology, and there have been videos since on specific equipment that have the port. However, I'd like to see a broad overview of which segments have fully implemented its capabilities and which are still lacking. For instance, I believe the overpriced LG Ultrafine displays are still the only monitors available with a Thunderbolt 3 speed USB port, and they don't even have daisy chaining. Do you really still have to buy a several hundred dollar hub in order to get an array of ports and 87 Watt charging?

 

I am currently trying to design a thunderbolt 3 desk setup and am having doubts. (Link to my forum post below.) I believe an overview by Linus on the topic would be helpful.
