I am not new to tech. This is a computer that I use daily. It has a biostar t5xe cfx sli motherboard with a core i7 870, 14 gb of ram, an EVGA 1060 ftw+, an asus 750 ti oc, 1tb hard drive, and a 750 gb.

I have been working on this all day. I am not just asking to get told to get a new computer, I know the age but I dont care. if you tell me to get something new, I will ignore you. I just have the strangest happening with my computer.

I can't get the usb to be found by the bios. I have found that the usb controllers are only found in windows. I have the latest bios version for this mother board, 2.66.

This was all started because I wanted to reinstall windows. When I set it up with an 80 gb sata hard drive I had lying around, it installed windows 10 to my 1tb, it also saved an essential boot file to the 80 gb. After a certain amount of time, windows 10 got an update and I stopped having the ability to boot my computer.

Now comes to the present. Could someone please help me out with my struggles? Thanks.

Did you disable USB controller in the bios. Maybe your control died. Maybe a windows reinstall could fix this as a bad install is likely as Nehlam is not officially supported by win10.

dont belive that to be the issue, as when Im in windows, I have no problems with any of my usb devices. In fact, if the usb controller died, I wouldn't have been able to use my usb keyboard to move about the bios. That and if it did die, I highly doubt all my usb devices would continue working on this computer. I appologise for being to hasty.

From what I remember (as my memory is crap - this might not be the case), around when that was produced, not all motherboards could boot from a USB device, so that may be the problem you are having. If it is, you might just need to burn the latest win 10 to a dvd and boot from that to either do a windows repair (if that will work with your predicament) or full reinstall.
