Randomly when playing Tomb Raider my computer will crash after playing for about 30minutes? All the fans turn on high and in order for me to do anything I have to hold down power button and turn back on the computer. Leaving the computer idle with something like internet explorer running there is no issues. (Mobo posts code 8 sometimes?)
Can anybody figure out whats going on?

My build

Asus crosshair VI Hero

EVGA SuperNova 650 G1, 80+ Gold

Noctua NH-15 6 heatpipe with dual NF-A15 140mm Fans

Corsair Obsidian Series 750D Airflow Edition

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Processor

GTX 1080

Hp ram 16g 2133mhz (2x8g) (upgrading to G.Skill 3200mhz 16G (4x4gb)

Sounds like you're hitting a thermal limit, you should be able to recreate this by running a gpu and cpu stress test, It could also be related to power draw but this seems less likely. You should have satisfactory cooling with your case and cpu cooler though so i'm not sure. Could be the psu overheating if the fan never starts (had this issue with my latest psu)

Qcode 08 (actually 8) is related to an instability probably associated with your RAM.

I suggest updating you Bios version if you haven't already.

Yeah I figured it might be that so I went ahead and ordered the G. Skill Ram, I pulled the hp ram out of a pre-built pc, because thats all i had at the time. Anything besides that is overheating?

Is this a new built system or is this the first time this has happened?

could be something else but ram is my guess

Pretty much brand new built system, Pulled ssd / ram / GPU out of old system.

Pretty sure GPU is fine (like 99%)

SSD should be fine, but even if it isn't i dont see how it would be causing this issue.

And ram is some HP ram that came out of a pre built system from hp.

Everything else is brand new

Ok so I installed the new ram 16 gb (4x 4gb) G. Skills 3200 mhz and the computer still crashed, i've gotten a new post code a couple of times but it makes zero sense to me (24) technically that deals with the computer going to sleep even though i have it set to never do that

Fans are still turning on 100% after crash.

If this only happens when playing Tomb Raider it's the game.

I just got Rise of the Tomb Raider myself sometime ago and i had weird artifacts and crashes. In my case it was my GPU OC. The game is ridiculous picky about stability and will start to go bonkers if it doesn't get its way.
