Ryzen is more fool proof in that regard. If you plug your monitor into your motherboard instead of your graphics card, you don't have to wait until you launch a game to notice you did something wrong ;)

To be fair, on most Intel motherboards it disables the iGPU if there's an external graphics card, so you get the same situation.
