can beep codes happen while booted

my pc is fully booted and has been running for a while but in my headset i heard beeps that sounded like beep codes while playing mortal kombat x
it was just 2 short beeps and then they happened again after about a minute i feel really stupid but does anyone know what this is?

Beep codes don't happen after boot. It happens when the BIOS is loading up. Reinstall your sound drivers/update them. 

"May your frame rates be high and your temperatures low"

I misread titles/posts way too often--correct me if I don't.

Generally beep codes after boot indicate a failed cpu, system fan or overheating. Check your bios to see if you have warnings enabled usually under the pc health status option.
