So i have the fortunate pleasure of being able to build a really expensive computer. Now i have done it before and my first attempt was overkill to say the least but this time i actually have to build this computer as part of a school project. So my first question comes in with the graphics cards.... I have only ever owned AMD graphics cards. My first was a 6870 and now i have dual 7970's. Now i have been having problems with crossfire to the point where i had to take out one of my 7970;s because it was causing my computer to shutoff in the middle of a gaming session, so when i ask what graphics cards should i get, i mainly want to know is it worth going for triple 780/ti's or triple r9 290x's? I am worried that if i get R9's i will have the problem i have now and i dont really want to go back to that. I will be doing my first custom water cooling loop so im looking at cooling my three graphics cards as well as my motherboard and my CPU as well. This brings me to my next question, how many radiators and pumps will i need to make that system effectively flow? Im going to try and fit all these parts onto a rampage 4 extreme housed by a 750D. Now as you can probably guess my budget is really quiet high. I have about $5 or $6k to blow. Ive been trying to find a dual socket motherboard that has a red and black color scheme that i can get within Australia. I don't want to get any of my parts from over seas because it will jack the price up massively as well as attract the eyes of customs if it is close to $1k in currency value. This basically means no dual sockets from outside this country.

EVGA SR-X,Quadro K6000 single card with Tesla K40.

Dual Xeon E5-2867v2(high clock speed),E5-2697v2(more cores) or E7-2890v2(even more cores,no budget limit option).

Should get high density registered ECC Modules for RAM.

well its a design and technology project, i already have a processor unless i can get my hands on dual socket board, then i will explore my options.

So what? Are you supposed to just make a souped up rig or make one that is presentable and looks nice?

Any indication as to what direction to take the system?
