Hi there folks..

Long ago i posted a thread asking if my GPU was dying because i was getting these type of screens while playing videogames.

Well... it kept crashing... so i kind of updated everything including the GPU client that is EVGA and downloaded a driver for my GPU and it fixed it self... and now its back again..

Yesterday when i was playing Battlefront 2 it crashed once again.. had to restart my pc and then it crashed again when i launched the game! I have noticed that my mouse lags whenever i move it aswell... like really really lag.. never ever had this issue before. And i dont have any fps loss in videogames.

Today i done a loadtest on my cpu and i see a 10c different between the cores.. could this be the issue that causing these crashes and lags? I'm gonna buy some paste tommorow and hopefully try to fix this issue.. but i thought i want to post this thread just to see what your guys opinions are about this.. (pic related) could the temp difference cause any damage or is it harmful?

Thanks in advance for your help!

That looks like gpu memory is going bad. I'm pretty sure it's a gpu issue.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

From what I've seen, artifacting that badly is usually a GPU that is on its way to being dead. Those temperatures are nowhere near bad enough to cause issues like that. While they're high, I don't think they're deadly. I would definitely go through with reapplying the thermal paste, and make sure you're not using too much (pea sized typically). Try taking your GPU out of your PC all together and plug your screen directly into your motherboard IO and use the on-board graphics if possible and see if the issue is still there.

When i had the issues with the GPU someone did advice me exactly as you described to try to plug my monitor into my motherboard IO and nothing was showing up on my monitor... pc ran fine... but wasn't showing on the monitor... I'm confused what is causing this.. ill try tomorrow again and see what happens. And i think you and Docswag are right.. i think my GPU is dying slowly.. its been over 4 years now.. my GTX 780 did a "Ok" job  i guess... now i gotta find a gpu soon...

Yup, sorry dude. That GPU is on its last leg. That's awesome that it lasted over 4 years though! That's how you have to look at it!
