Windows 10 up to date on fixes

-Sleep only seems to work if one does not (yet) have a VLC window open playing a video. I understand why at times sleep fails to work but if I  push the Sleep button it should work without fail. Suspect other dvd and video  players behave the  same way. 

 

-fails to clean up a process after running some applications. It  is reasonable not to clean up after a thread goes south but process clean up should be total and infallible. Periodically the  only way to get a properly running system is to reboot.      Often this occurs after running some games. In addition on two  of my machines even when I shut down VLC the system still will not sleep properly (have not tried it on my other machines but expect they would act the same). Much of the time my video state is bad and the screen behaves badly. 

 

I consider these kinds of issues to be fundamental and such things should not occur. Probably other users have similar issues. I for one would rather have the  base system rock solid rather than the fluffy updates that come from the Redmondians.

The problem Microsoft has they can only test with 0.0000001% of the configurations that are out there using Windows. The fact that Windows in some form even works decently enough on probably hundreds of millions of computers is a testament that it has a solid foundation.

 

It's just the other crap people put on top of it that brings problems.
