I currently have an:

  1. i5 6500(upgrading to an i7 7700k this week)
  2. MSI R9 390
  3. Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB RAM (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3000MHz CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R (Just Recently upgraded from 8gb Hyper X)
  4. Asus Pro Gaming z170(Most recent BIOS version)
  5. 240gb Adata M.2 SSD

Description of Problem:

It appears that after upgrading my ram to my current one, which I used XMP in bios to overclock it to 3000mhz), my computer completely freezes, I hear a screech in my headphones for half a second and the display remains frozen. It requires a long press of the power button to shut it down and reboot into a normal state, this has happened over three times when playing Valve's "CSGO". I will also be upgrading to an i7 7700k in the coming week and I'm wondering if that will also cause problems and how to resolve each of these issues.

Thanks for your time!

then turn the ram speeds to default, you're probably oc too much and it cant handle it (non-stable) or just lower it

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...

Ok, so does that mean there is no way to oc it in the future, and will there be the same problems when upgrading to an i7 7700k?

im just saying to lower the ram oc, not to oc it anymore... That oc is just unstable which leads to crashes... I dont know why is happening that because there can be a lot of answers but you can search a little bit on google too
