I was set in my mind to purchase the i5 7500 for my mid-range gaming pc build paired with a gtx 1060 or 1070 but then the i5 8400 is around the corner with about the same price so i was wondering if i should go with the 8400 (higher core count) or the 7500 (higher clock speed)

keep in mind this pc will be mainly for games, editing videos and photoshop.

8400 turbo to 4,00 while 7500 goes to 3.8

when doing heavy cpu work, the 8400 will beat the shit out of it

and have higher clock speed too since turbo activates during high work load

and more cores/threads too

thanks for your input! though, i wish they brought back the i5 8500.
