Coffee lake

yes, i was going to mention that,

OP, are you living under a rock, or else you would have known about the awesome 8th generation intel core processors that released on october 5. What I want to say is that the 6 core 6 thread i5-8600k is so much better than the 4 core 8 thread i7-7700k, so better performance than an i7 for an i5's price. So change your processor to a 6 core 12 thread 8700 or a 6 core 6 thread 8600k.

Why do you need wi-fi when ethernet is faster, this is not a portable laptop! and it is an old a/b/g/n adapter, an ac or ad adapter may be better. An ssd is not necessary. If you ask me I would save both on the wi-fi adapter and buy an 120gb ssd and use the rest of the money to get a gtx 1070.

I'm going to keep the wifi adapter because an ethernet cable isn't really convenient for my friend, but I did take your advice and downgraded the ssd to a 120gb: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/68ck2R

That is just my opinion, you can build whatever you like, but try to get a gtx 1070 if you are a hardcore gamer. and if rumors are right with the release of a 1070 ti the 1070's price will reduce...
