Oh it doesn't have a stock cooler? But I'm using it...

Still don't get a good idea on what cooler should I get.

Any suggestion?

I'm running the same chip, stock/no oc with a an H100iv2 and I'm still not happy with the temps. Idles around 40 with constant spikes to the mid 50s. Hits the early to mid 70s on extended gaming sessions, which is not that bad I guess but still not good.

Your mileage may vastly vary because there's so many variables at play here, different cases, airflow, ambient temps etc but a beefier cooler than a stock Intel one will help your temps out a lot. Go for the giant twin 140 mm Noctua one or something like that if you want to stay on air, or a clc, preferably a 280mm (or more)  one and a good tim/thermal paste.

Been waay too busy lately but I'll be undervolting my chip to get the temps in control for now and maybe delid it and go liquid metal at some stage when I do finally oc it.

My i7-7700 cpu got ~40C when it is not under load. But when the cpu clock is going up and while gaming (csgo, gta v etc.) it goes to at least 80C.

Using the stock cooler and have applied thermal paste recently, should buy an aftermarket cooler or the temp is alright?

Sorry if i use bad English and thanks!

80c is fine at load. Its about the very maximum you would want. It wouldnt hurt to invest in a decent aftermarket cooler like a Cryorig H7 or something similar.

Kabylake is a known hot chip due to poor TIM used between the IHS and die.

What 'stock cooler' ? That chip does not ship with one. A dinky little random Intel one isn't good enough for it, it runs hot even when not oc'd. When you do a cooler upgrade, get a beefy one like from Noctua or an aio clc. Also consider undervolting it if not going all out and delidding it.

Even a liquid CPU cooler doesn't work well? The cooling of the CPU sucks...

Already running two 120mm fans inside the case so I think air is not a problem.

If it still hits 70C while using the liquid cooler, I guess the stock cooler could be very fine. Thanks for suggesting though :)
