I’m building my first pc tomorrow and I still need windows. I’m going to be buying a code from a microsoftsoftwareswap reddit for 40$ and I’m not too sure how to get it on a flash drive. 1) which flash drive do I need to order? How many gigs do I need and 2) which usb type do I need? 2 or 3? 3) how do I get it on the flash drive in the first place

1) Any USB Flash Drive will be fine

2) Around 16GB

3) Any will do, but preferably USB 3

4) You get another device and place the ISO on the drive. Or be old and get a Windows CD.

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070

MOBO: ASUS Z370-F STRIX

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2133MHz

I have a windows 10 laptop right now. Could that be used as the “other device”

Also, what is the ISO?

A ISO file is a virtual disc file. On Microsoft's website, they have a Media Creation Tool for Windows 10 that when ran, will mount an ISO to any device you choose (it will be formatted by the way). On this contains the setup files for the OS. Or an ISO can be mounted using something like a Burner.
