i7-8700K vs R7 1700

What are your thoughts on the 8700K ? Thoughts if I should wait it out and see what the bios updates of the 1700 has for Ryzen as my silicon lottery hit the jackpot of a 1700 that can overclock to 4.2ghz, while the 8700k is just a monster out of the get go.

Current PC Build:
R7 1700 (4.2ghz O.C.)

Asus Crosshair VI Hero
32 GB DDR4 Gskills Ripjaws Black (*3200Mhz)
Kraken x62 Rev (Upgrading to Water Cooling Later On)

850 Platinum Rated Evga PSU

Dark Base Pro 900 Case

The 8700K is faster, but not worth dumping a Ryzen 7 build for.

I donno if you have the money it's a great upgrade.

No it isn't. $500 for a 10% bump in 1080p games, and a mixed effect outside of pure games?

It doesn't really look like much of a bump, the only thing ryzen has to do is add on board graphics and its golden. Thanks for the benchmark info it isnt worth upgrading too. I'll wait and see maybe when ryzen is at 2201 bios or so things will be perfect

A lot of people with lower rated and watt psu's have had ttrouble getting higher O.C.s some with gold get 3.8 if lucky depending if its a b350 mobo and its been getting me wondering if its since mobo and power delivery on the psu are playing an effect

Interesting, I have the 1700, Crosshair VI but with a 850W Gold PSU. (It's not assembled yet; been busy with work) I wonder what my OC will be.

Did you end up getting a 1080TI?

What do you do with your PC? Is it just gaming? At what res and refresh rate? If 1440p or above, you are better off sticking with Ryzen. 1080p and want the absolute best and can afford to upgrade? 8700K. I wouldn't upgrade if I were you, even if I play at 1080p.

to Op, Ryzen 1700 4.2 ghz in what voltage & is it stable?? can you give screenshots? i would so love to see that. it is really seem miracle to me :o now back to your topic, if you have 1700 already, it doesn't worth selling your ryzen build to go for intel.
