Help: USB's keep cutting out

hello all,

I'm new to the forum, finally joined because hopefully someone can help. 

My USB's cut out randomly on my PC. Everything plugged in switches off that's plugged in then come back on about 5 seconds later. this becomes very annoying when playing a game or recording a video. 

I have a ASUS® RAMPAGE V EXTREME/U3.1: E-ATX, HSW-E CPU, USB 3.0, SATA 6 GB/s motherboard and alot of things plugged in to the USB's. is there a way to tell what/why it is doing this? whether the motherboard cant handle pushing the power to the devices.
