ModMic 4 behaving super weirdly

Go to solution Solved by AAJoe,

Hey @ramencupofjoy Lucky for you, you've got a ModMic! That means folks like me who actually care that you're having an issue!

That said this is a very weird series of symptoms. Best bet is going to be either our customer service via email (https://antlionaudio.com/pages/faq - contact us on the right hand side) or you can literally jump into our Discord and I or one of our other staff can help you in real time https://discord.gg/UrN6KNJ

That said our Discord staff are basically the marketing team, not the tech team, so we may be more likely to fail than an email AND we may simply not be online when you are.

Still, I dare you to find another company where you can just jump on a call with the director of marketing to help trouble shoot. :D (I love my job)

Worked fine until my computer took a dump and I had to use Microsoft's repair thing to fix it.

Now, when plugged into the motherboard Mic In, it only picks up noise.

When plugged into my front panel Mic In, it picks up static and the noise of the cable tapping/slithering around on the desk, but nothing else. And for some reason that sound plays through my headphones constantly, and it's really annoying. There isn't a setting enabling this turned on. My headphones are plugged into the front panel as well.

When plugged into my USB 3.0 headphone stand, it does absolutely nothing besides the loud pops that come from plugging it in/out.

I'm at a loss here and sick of spending money on new microphones.

About the bumping, I usually say give it a day or so. As for the mic, did you check the Windows settings? Maybe it's set to the wrong device for some reason.
