Go to solution Solved by kagarium,

MSI offers this GTX 1050 Ti

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137081

Works in full or half height enclosures.

They recommend at least a 300w PSU with it.

Hi so im able to get a prebuilt Desktop PC from my University. This is money that cant be used elsewhere except their store.  (free hardware in a way, could get tablets and other stuff)

Never mind the details.

Im thinking of getting Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 SFF Desktop PC. (small form factor, No big desktops available through store)  I believe its a thin case and cant take regular graphics cards.

It has good specs except the graphics card, I want it to be good for gaming too.

Looking to get the PC to play at 1080p 60 fps on high at least, low settings 144 fps + for like Overwatch.

Im not sure what kinda graphic card i can upgrade it too. I know it has to be low profile. (hoping to get 1050ti low profile)

Heres the specs and stuff.

  • Windows 7 Professional 64 English
  • Platform SFF Q170 210W 85%
  • Intel Core i7-6700 Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.00 GHz)
  • Memory 16GB(8+8) DDR4 2133 UDIMM
  • 500GB Hard Drive,7200 RPM,3.5",SATA
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 2GB HDMI Low Profile
  • DVDRW
  • No Wi-Fi (Wireless Connection)
  • Integrated Ethernet (Connection to internet via Ethernet Cable - Cable not included)
  • USB Optical Mouse Black
  • USB Fullsize Keyboard Black - UK English
  • Publication English

Price: £650

if it matters

Monitor: 27 inch Hd monitor. 60 hz(dunno) may upgrade to a 144 hz monitor.

Im no tech wizard. But 210 watts may be low for 1050ti low profile graphics card. I dunno much about this.

Id like to know if i install a 1050ti graphics card is there a risk, will it work?

Do i need to upgrade my power-supply (maybe a recommendation or link).

Does the power supply have to be a certain size?

Any upgrades even needed for 1080p gaming at high 60fps. (overwatch, destiny, cod)

Thanks in advance

I'd recommend upgrading the power supply to 400w minimum just to be sure, then the 1050ti would be ok.
