Hey, I am building a pc arround 1400Cad budegt

Im confused which gpu should i go with evga 1060 sc or zotac 1070 mini because i have a thight budget ill be using it on my led tv which is 1080p

Will 1060 be able to give good resolution on the led and will it be enough for 3 years in future?

the 1060 6gb version would be good enough, but if you can afford the 1070, definitely get it

Which CPU are you planning to use?

I5 7600k

Did you allready buy it? If not maybe consider swapping to a ryzen 1600. It has 2 more cores and has hyper-threading and the B350 are much cheaper then Z270

Yes ?

Okay it's unfortunate but I had it too ;)

Did you mean asus prime  z270 - A?

The difference between the 2 motherboards:

Gigabyte has: 1 case fan header more, 2x SATA Express (Gen3, 16Gb/s) and asus none,

Asus has: 1 m.2 slot more, 1 'PCI-e 3.0 x1' more,

Also the asus has 6x USB 3.0 and gigabyte 8x 3.1 gen.1.

No problem :D

There is almost no difference in specs. The only ones I can find:

Hard drive connections:

Asus: M.2 (S600/Pcie3.0x4), 6x SATA-600

Gigabyte: M.2 (S600/Pcie3.0x4), 2x SATA Express (Gen3, 16Gb/s), 6x SATA-600, U.2 (Gen3, 32Gb/s)

USB/FW connections:

Asus: 6x USB 2.0, 6x USB 3.0, USB 3.1 (Gen2, 10Gb/s), USB 3.1 (Type-C, G2, 10Gb/s)

Gigabyte: 6x USB 2.0, 8x USB 3.1 (Gen1, 5Gb/s), USB 3.1 (Gen2, 10Gb/s), USB 3.1 (Type-C, G2, 10Gb/s)

What is the price difference? Because in my country its almost 40 CAD converted. (the gigabyte is cheaper)

Wow 300cad for a motherboard is a lot. Your friend could get them for 150/200. But I understand what you’re saying.

Your build looks fine the only thing is the m.2 nvme SSD. I will only use it if you are editing videos or something like that. If you use it for the os only it’s not that worth. My nvme SSD gave me more problems than good things.

So if you did not bought it allready I would advice to swap it to a normal (maybe more gb) ssd

The gtx 1070 is definitely future proof. It is meant for 1440p and will definitely be good for 1080p. I’m using the gtx 1070 for 1080p (actually 1200p) gaming and my GPU has never been a bottleneck. My cpu (i5 7600k) was the only bottleneck in games like Witcher 3 in the big cities with a lot of npc but that’s it.

The only thing I want to say is, you said you have a tv as monitor. How about the input lagg. Have you tried that? How much is it?

I can't seem to find any 'gaming' reviews on it but almost every tv nowadays has a gaming mode to get a lower input latency. So I hope/think you'll be fine! :D
