Building a new pc within the next couple of weeks.... https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m6cXD8 and the 1080 card on amazon is 680$ which is a complete joke. I'm planning on ordering all my parts from amazon but not sure why that specific card is so expensive on amazon. On newegg its around 550 or something like that. Does anyone know why it's so expensive on amazon and also if there's any other good options on which card to get?

Because it is sold out of all the first party sellers so people are jacking up the price.

You could get an EVGA card

That Strix is about as good as you'll get for 1080's without shelling out an extra $50 for a hybrid card. It's probably just more expensive on amazon because the seller on amazon just felt like price gouging today, its honestly about as basic as that, prices on both sites change constantly.

What would be the difference in those two if any? I loved the look of the strix which is why I really wanted to get it but did not realize it was that expensive on amazon.

Any other recommendations for cards on amazon? I'm trying to keep it under around 570$

Just buy the strix on newegg, its a better card than the FTW and it's cheaper.

Well the one on Amazon for $680 is the OC edition which comes with a modest factory applied overclock which is regularly in the low $600 range, but it is the most popular 1080 and is sold out everywhere just about so the price is high. The one on Newegg for $550 is the regular variant which is sold out on Aamazon.

This is the one that you have in your build

That was one I was planning on getting but wasn't sure if it had RGB. I hate that orange, wont go well with my build.

Out of luck on amazon then. There's also a Zotac Amp card at 560, but there are way to many issues for it on temps.

Depends, I live on the east coast and Newegg sucks. When I ordered my 1080 ti from them it took 10 days

I live on the east coast too and when I ordered my 1070 from newegg it came before my stuff from amazon, and I have prime. To be fair prime is always late but still. Just depends on what they have in what warehouses where.

Another question, ordering a processor on amazon is fine right? It's not better to buy from store correct?

It's fine, but worse than buying from retail stores.

Prime has never failed me. That card shipped next day, and everything I have ever order from Newegg took 1+ week

Prime for me is insanely early sometimes, I had 3 orders of just random stuff that I ordered on friday night, were suppose to come in monday, and ended up coming the next day.
