whenever im doing something on my computer in the upstairs on my house through a wireless repeater and i know when downloading something i hit a maximum speed of 2 mbp/s (crap i know, deal with it) out of the maximum 15 mbp/s how can i prove this, ive tried explaining bandwidth but they arent having it

is there any way to prove im not using that much of the download speed

15Mbps is about 2MBps (1.875MBps). 

 

Also, who are you trying to prove this to? You can take screenshots and show them.

whatever is normal for internet speeds sorry haha, also parents, im only back home for a month or two but its killing me

Can you run a speedtest at http://speedtest.net/ and post the results. 

 

Also, download something from your web browser, Steam or other application and tell me the speed (make sure to copy the units it displays exactly, taking notice of capital letters). 

 

I feel like you're probably mixing up MB/s and Mb/s. Internet bandwidth is normally quoted in Megabits and downloads are normally shown in Megabytes. There are 8 bits to a byte.
