hi everyone

i play on both pc and ps4 alternately.

until now i was using a mixamp with a pair of Superlux HD 681 evo and an AntLion Modmic. it's working just fine but it's quite a pain with all the cables so i was looking for an alternative going wireless.

looking to the top tiers i got oriented towards the

Astrogaming A50

Steelseries 840 or Steelseries 800.

seems that the a50 are a bit more comfortable but the steelseries with the removable battery let you never be cabled.

so what do you guys suggest?

if the steelseries is the difference between 840 and 800 only bluetooth? cause i don't really need to connect my phone to the headset only to listen to music.

do you have any other suggestions? i'm open to pick normal wireless headphones if there's a wireless microphone somewhere and i can get surround on both pc and console.

Not sure on wireless headsets I would rather deal with a couple cords than sacrifice any audio quality.

But as another suggestion you could get a wireless adapter for your current headphones and purchase some type of wireless MIC to go along with it. I do not know about a wireless mic but you could go with a USB mic and just plug it into the front of your PS4 or into you computer.

Something along the lines of this ( https://www.amazon.ca/Maceton-Aluminum-Bluetooth-Amplifier-Headphone/dp/B01IDEZ3YW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506792435&sr=8-1&keywords=wireless+headphone+adapter )

I'm sure they make better ones this is just for reference purposes.  Doing this may be cheaper and you get to stick with headphones you already like.. mind you this will only work with headphones with a removable cord...  I wouldn't worry so much about having "surround" sound in headphones just stick to 2 channel stereo I play a lot of FPS games (CSGO, Call of Duty, Battlefield) both on PC and PS4 and 2 channel gives me much better positional audio than any surround sound headphones/headset ever did.

Good luck!
