HDMI HELP

I have a Sony NEX VG 10 Camera and I bought for it a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable. 

I thought that the signal of the video will be transmited to an external display ( my TV, just to test the cable and stuff like that ), but when I connected the cable to the camera and tv, I got no signal. 

Maybe I am doing something wrong. Can anyone help me out on this one ?
