Need to buy a gaming laptop unfortunately and I  would like to know if going from the i5 to the i7 is worth the $356 upgrade? Yes prices are high here in Poland....

What GPU does the laptop have? In terms of raw speed, the 7700HQ is almost 50% faster in multithreaded workloads, singlethreaded performance is only around 7% faster though.

It's really up to you and your personal usage - if a GPU is something in the range of a GTX 1050Ti then the i5 will suffice, but you will lose productivity performance and multitasking performance.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

It’s a gtx1050 (hp omen series laptop)

So I guess it’s worth it? Planning to play games like gTA V and video editing from time to time

As I mentioned earlier, it depends on what you do. If you're only gaming then the 7300HQ will be enough to support a GTX 1050 but if you do more stuff with your laptop than just gaming then I'd consider spending more for the i7 for better multitasking and faster video editing.
