trying to make a powershell/vba tool

doing a mechanical task at work, and an idea popped in mind: what if i tried to made a tool that took off at least half of the job for me.

After some long consideration, while still doing my work, i thought that the fastest way, and by fast i mean shortest code write up possible, was too:

1. copy a text in a cell on excel

2. paste it to filesearchEX (network search program my work place uses)

3. repeat till end of the table on the sheet

that way i'll end up with multiple instances of filesearch opened and all i would have to do is look at the search results

but the bit where i'm stuck is point 2. Can i do that with either VBA or powershell?

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

First of all you should check this table to see if your project is worth it ;).

From what I see step 1 and 3 should be possible with both PS and VBA. But step 2 is probably hard. Unless it has a cli interface or api you can interface with.

think of it as file explorer, but just with the search utility and no clutter

well then you will need to interact with the gui itself.
It's possible but not nice ;).
Think this blog post will help you underway:

Else you might be helped by just a simple macro recorder, don't know the specific situation:
