2400mhz ram runs at 2133...?

Did you enable the XMP profile for your memory? It's usually just a button or a dropdown box in the BIOS.

 

By default, all DDR4 will run at 2133 unless you enable its XMP profile or overclock it manually.

hello,

 

i built my pc yesterday, and noticed that my ram was running at 2133 mhz, according to task manager. it's 2400 mhz vengeance lpx ddr4. 

anyone know how to fix it? i know it doesn't make a huge diffrence, but i would like to get what i paid for.

 

my mobo: GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H

cpu: Core I5 7400

os: Windows 10

i'll check that out when i get home. i looked through the bios yesterday, and from what i know it wasn't there, but i'll check.

Are you using the latest bios? Mine wouldn't run at anything above 2133MHz when I first started it.

All bios's have an XMP option.

You’ll need to look for XMP in your BIOS. Have you updated your BIOS?

Go into the BIOS and enable the XMP profile for your RAM. Should fix you right up.

If the BIOS doesn't like the ram, then the xmp profiles won't work either.

i had the choice in xmp options of Disabled or Profile 1. i enabled Profile 1, and now it's running at 2400mhz. thank you!
