Cpu, Mobo, and ram upgrade?

Dom5201

So basically, I have a 250 dollar budget and am currently on an fx-4300 (I know terrible) and I'm looking to switch to a better cpu I will be pairing it with a 1060 6gb at one point but I'm not counting that in this budget, any recomendations? I will need a motherboard, ram, and cpu. 8gb of ram and hopefully over clocking. I was thinking of an r3 1200 and overclocking it.

The case is some random cheap one psu corsair cx600m current gpu 750ti but as I said I will be getting a 1060 6gb around the same time I will be able to get this. Willing to upgrade anything else (probably going to upgrade psu and case).

I did a r3 1200 for my wife recently and its a great 1080p performer. Here is what I would do (Did for her and overlcocked). Remember Ryzen loves Ram speed so you can star with this and then add another stick as needed.

I'd say either ryzen 3 1300x or ryzen 5 1400 if you want to spend a bit more and get the 4c/8t

Dont get a 1300x, the 1300x is not worth it. I was able to get a 3.9 overclock on the CPU at 1.35 volts with the stealth cooler and 2993 on the ram stably. Idle temps are around 50's with loads in the high 60's low 70's, all on the stealth cooler.

I can go with r5 1400 but I would probably have to delay the 1060 which I would be fine with

R5 is not worth it. Go either R3 1200 or save and go R5 1600.

If you'd like the 1060 for 1080p ultra gaming, get the 1300x and save a few bucks or save even more with the 1200 like everyone else is saying

I'll browse for some used 980tis but if I can find any ones in budget I'll probably go 1060 keep in mind I'm only doing 1080p 60hz gaming moniter also may change to 1440p in near future but I don't play any hugely intensive games

Looks even better I knew ryzen needed faster frequency ram to perform well but I wasn't paying attention an pressed the 2400 one instead of a 3000 one
