New PC build + Monitor mouse keyboard need help.

NA_NotAvailable

Hello I am helping a friend build a PC. He does not care if its a laptop or desktop as long as its cool. The though I came up with was that it had to be future proof. So at the very least be able to play at 1080p.

Budget: 1200 (plus minus 50)

I took the outline from Paul's Hardware as a starting point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdFJf2Og0Ck&t=128s

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/paulshardware/saved/Gtbf7P?ref=paul

Changes: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6gfR7h

Video Card: I tend not to trust zotac so I switched out that for a MSI https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fKp323/msi-geforce-gtx-1070-8gb-video-card-gtx-1070-gaming-x-8g

I would have went with EVGA https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ph38TW/evga-geforce-gtx-1070-8gb-sc-gaming-video-card-08g-p4-5173-kr  but I remember them having some fire trouble around this time and I was not sure which GPU was effected by it so I stayed away from them. But i would have preferred to go with EVGA

Case: because its cheaper and I though it looks better.

CPU cooling: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FcfmP6/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhu9s

Problem with this it that it wont fit the case.

Now after all that a huge problem because apparent. I did not have anything left over for Monitor mouse and keyboard.

So now I need some serious help. This is for the United States of America.

I would need a help on a build guide that contains the following.

1: A monitor (1080p 24inch preferred)

2: keyboard + mouse

3: IF the 1070 from EVGA isn't part of the ones with the fire problems EVGA if not MSI https://pcpartpicker.com/product/fKp323/msi-geforce-gtx-1070-8gb-video-card-gtx-1070-gaming-x-8g

4: has to have windows 10

budget $USD 1200

if he doesn't mind whether it's a laptop or desktop the new Inspiron line look promising

that is my laptop suggestion lol.... though the upgradeability is lacking.

with some hard revision I came up with this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7rN9kT

no, you dont need cooler at all. the stock cooler with ryzen 1600 is pretty good. you can even Overclock 3.5-3.7ghz with it. spend the cash in other department, example like add two case fans for airflow. the case should come with 2 & you can add 2/3 more for better.

Microsoft also has Student licenses, I think they are in the $30-40 range. Same for most other MS software, check their website. My kids have taken advantage of this when building their machines, and when they need MS software for class.
