Farley new pc lagging

HI im having problems with my pc its a Dell Xps 8500

Intel Core I7-3770 @ 3.40Ghz

16 gb's of ram

AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series

 64 bit windows 10 OS

My problem is that every once and a while the desktop and any other program open lags for a bit then stops and then starts again. I've cleaned all the temp files limited the startup programs defragmented the drive and most of the other stuff to speed up your system.

This pc has never done this till now i think it might be something to do with ram because my idle usage is pretty high

^ this to me refers to not having chipset drivers installed , or unstable chipset ( due to drivers )

what? a lot of stuff that you dont know what it is?

most of them i think are drivers and Microsoft stuff

there not using a lot of ram but there is quite a few

like i said im ok with computers but im still learning i know there not viruses

check & update all your drivers if you have not, specially the graphics card driver.

even if the ram usage is high there are plenty of free ram. other than your video card being a little old, I dont see any special reason for lagging. btw on side note, get an ssd for windows drive.

ill try that and im running a ssd for windows and a hdd for all my other stuff

I normally download from manufacture websites.

chipset drivers cause issues like this , not graphic card ^^

 

because hes got it in windows explorer basicly

i think that the graphics driver fixed it. i intalled them then restarted and normal it would be lagging now. ill use it for a bit and see if it stopped Thanks

If you are using a HDD, using a SSD will make things much more responsive.

im using a hdd for my 2nd drive and a ssd for my os

the ssd is Samsung ssd pm830 msata 256gb

and my hdd is a 1.81 tb

Im pretty sure it stopped if it does start again ill come back to this post

and if i do this wrong or somthing can i wreck my pc
