I was just wondering your thoughts on this: anything you would change?

I'm not sure on the ryzen parts it was either 1200 or 1300x I haven't been following ryzen at all and I was wondering which I would be better spending my money on? is 1200 OCable?

budget is about £600 excluding windows.

All Ryzen CPUs are overclockable, but the A320 chipset does not allow overclocking.

I would probably suggest skipping the aftermarket CPU cooler for now, Ryzen's stock coolers are decent.

gonna want better then a 1050ti for VR, i have the rift and I know its more demanding then the ouc and it is the min for the ouc  but i can tell you a 1050 ti till give you headaches in VR expansively if there is a few things moving on the screen

vr and enjoyable vr experience is very different

I have a 970 myself with my PC and it runs VR just fine :) , this is for my brother. how does the 970 compare to a 1050ti? I thought min spec now was like a 960 with ASW? He didn't play the most demanding games ever. He played rec room the most which I don't think is too demanding. But I'll try and fit a 1060 in. Just thought that a 1050ti was going to be close to a 970 obviously not from looking online.

960 on vr oh no thats a migraine waiting to happen. thing is yes it is the minim but even with my 390 games where the 390 is the min (all of them) i still get frame drops and in game where you move and then it just freezes really fucks with your head and it hurts, your brain is like wtf is going on.

just me personally if the rig is mainly for VR id get a better GPU just to be safe, games will only get more intensive as time goes on. but if VR is just a side thing and will be done like once a week for under like 3 hours it should be fine.

google says the 960 is substantially better than the 1050 ti, but you cant trust vs websites all too much

This is not correct. With ASW, the minimum requirements are a GTX 960, 1050 Ti, or RX 470.

The 1050 Ti is slower than the 970, but still good enough for an Oculus Rift.

It's not. They perform almost identically, 1050Ti should be slightly better for the most part.

OP, £600 budget isn't exactly good for a VR system.

@Sanctorum

the 960 performs about the same as a 1050, not better than or equal to the 1050ti.
