Remove back plates from 1080 FE?

nah it won't help at all really. it might help a little bit if you afterwards replace them with an active cooling backplate like the ones from EKWB, but otherwise it won't change much at all.

many people that they are mostly for show and it wil help with heat dissapation

will it?

It can, if it's thermal connected. What cards do you have? Founders or custom coolers, how many spaces between them are there? Are they beside one another, 1 or more spaces apart?

Yours faithfully

If they have one space between them, then they're fine. The founders editions run hot anyways, and the backplates on them are mostly for looks and protection, but I wouldn't worry about them. If they're running hot, adjust the fan speed curve so they get more air.

Yours faithfully

I was running mine in sli on air last week. Have one spot too, wouldn't remove the plates myself. Love the look, I just turn up fans of need be. Temps are fine.
