Hello,

A friend brought her (2 weeks old) laptop to me because her internet didn't work...

When i booted the laptop and connected to my wifi it worked normaly! however after a few minutes internet and basicly the whole laptop stopped working.

After that i opened task manager and i noticed the laptops disk usage was at 100% while barely any apps were running.

Is this a known problem for windows 10 and if so is there a solution for it?

Do a virus scan. It could be a bug in the laptop.

I usually see that happening when Windows is indexing files. Doesn't take more than 5 min though.

You could try disabling indexing and seeing if that works. Also, look at what exactly is reading/writing to disk from the task manager

There is an issue with Windows update services in some build. Try resetting the windows update components and letting it do it's initial sync completely.

Might be thinking of WSUS though...
