I currently have a Asus Crosshair VI Hero, and the fan control is utterly useless. Here is a thread I posted a few days ago explaining the background (can't be bothered re-typing).

It seems all the fans and pump suffer this issue, so I'm thinking I might buy an aftermarket fan controller to sort this out once and for all.

I live in New Zealand, so please don't go around posting amazon links, as I will wind up getting nailed for shipping. I can buy from these companies:

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/

https://www.elive.co.nz/

I don't have a budget, and would rather pay more for something that will sort the issue out effectively, rather than spending money for a different set of issues or idiosyncrasies.

One thing to consider is that I only have one internal USB 2.0 header, and both USB ports on it are currently utilized, so I will need some form of USB hub. If a controller by any chance has this inbuilt, bonus.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe try with Speedfan before going with hardware controller. You will loose main part of control options with hardware controllers. Most of them use knobs or very inaccurate (personal opinion) curves. Only NZXT Grid+ v2 and Corsair Commander Mini have ability to use mobo temp sensors for curve editing.

Speedfan doesn't work. Already tried it. No config file or something, nothing shows up.

By fan controller I meant something that has accurate fan curves, and can use the CPU temp. I don't want to be messing around with knobs on the front of the case. I found the Corsair Commander pro which looked like exactly what I needed. Although thats $150.

I have actually found that if I don't use the water temp sensor connectors on the MBO then the fan control sorts itself out.
