7970 for 1440p?

So I have an OC 7970 and I just got a job. Now I don't know what I should buy since I really don't have anything I need. And then I thought "ahhhhh I could buy 1440p!'. So my question is, should I buy a moniter and use my current single 7970 to fun at 1440p until the 800 series comes out for nvidia? Or should I just go with something like a 780ti and a 1440p moniter?

your 7970 is fine. How much memory does it have?

Same as every oither 7970 ever, 3gb of gddr5

There are 6gb models. But either or you're fine.
