Just finally finished my PC Build yesterday.

Parts can be seen here

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c8fQkT

After getting windows up and running. All drivers up to date, few games downloaded.

I watch a few youtube videos, etc. And then tried to play a game. And another. As soon as I started any game, my audio would stop working.

Would still work on the desktop after I exited the game, but during gameplay, sound just stops working.

I've uninstalled drivers, reinstalled, used old drivers. Nothing fixes it. I've noticed if I tab out of a game, I'll have a red X over my speaker ico  in the corner, if I'm quick enough and click it before it reverts, it tells me I have no audio device connected.

Using onboard sound from my Maximus Formula 9 and connected via HDMI to a TV.

Would anyone happen to have any ideas?

that is kinda weird, have you tried running your audio off something else ? maybe HDMI audio is being flaky
