Superclocked? HELP????

Go to solution Solved by _ASSASSIN_,

but can I not OC it myself?

or are the SC better binned?

you can, the SC are binned where they don't require extra voltage to maintain the overclock, so yeah I'd say they are binned, go and get one and then you can overclock on top of that.

Plus, you can have better performance not only out of the box, but without a program running in the back that consumes ram.

Hey guys just decided to get the 760, as you can see in my sig, it will be quite the upgrade!

anyways, I was asking if I should get the amazon for 250 but is is Not superclocked BUT I HAVE PRIME!!! so it comes REALLY fast

OR get newegg which is 250 but superclocked with SLOW free shipping :( \

it is that much of a difference where I have to wait ALL THAT EXTRA TIME?

Double check everything, I am usually wrong.

You can always OC it manually, so I would go for the regular GTX 760 from Amazon.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

I'm putting that shipping times aren't a big deal, which product will you be happier with if you take shipping out of the equation.

Pick that card

I would much rather wait a few days extra and get a SC version

But aren't the Superclocked ver. binned better?

I dont think it is... I could be wrong though. I know for a fact that the Classified cards are binned. I just think the SC cards are guaranteed to run at those clocks.

OK, but I hope I made the right decision! seeing how I will have to wait (up to) a ENTIRE week (6 days) MORE

if you cannot find on amazon and need quick shipping from newegg. I have had good success with shoprunner get free 2 day shipping on most things from newegg, except computer cases and really heavy items.

they have a 30 day trial for free.

The clock speeds aren't the most important factor for a video card. There are many brands that have high clock speeds but use a crappy cooler so they either never reach those actual speeds because they get too hot or they become really loud to get there. Also with cheaper brands you might get an awfully annoying coil whine. I would suggest two cards right now that are very well regarded. First one would be the one from ASUS. It is a pretty shord card with 21cm in length, has a quiet cooler and decent overclocks out of the box (1072Mhz boost clock vs 1033 boost clock on the standart model) - due to the DirectCUII cooler it should have pretty good overclocking potential. The other one I'd recommend is the MSI GTX 760 Gaming. It's a good deal longer (26cm), has a beefier cooling solution and better overclocks (1150Mhz boost clock) out of the box.

According to what everyone says, both cards are superior to other models right now in their overall build quality and the savest bets you can find right now. Definately worth waiting to get one of those for a much higher chance of a care free experience. I should get my MSI GTX 760 today or tomorrow to replace a Zotac GTX 760 which is too loud for my taste. Once it arrives I can tell you how well it works if you like.

yes but those non reference 760's brands you're talking about are more expensive...maybe the OP don't want to spend more than he has to.

@OP

I would painfully wait and get the SC version if I were you.  Look at it this way, it will have better

resale value.  Also I truly hope it's an Evga because evga's RMA replacement program is best.

I ram'ed two times with nary a problem with them.

Then again a Superclocked version usually costs more than a bone stock version...

Right, I believe only FTW and Classified cards are binned higher.  SuperClocked cards are just as likely to overclock as non-SuperClocked cards, so there's no reason to pay the extra money for the SuperClocked card.

The reference design for the GTX 760 is a really bad option from what you hear. It barely manages to keep the card cool enough at the clock speeds and is really, really loud. Not comparable with the reference designt of a GTX 770 and upwards.

Soo, just got my MSI GTX 760 Gaming and WOW. First impressions are that it's worth every cent. Not audible at all and extremely cool! The cooler ramps up to 1380 RPM (46% fanspeed) at a temperature target of 80°C in furmark! That's just amazing!
