Air Play on TV

The only apple at home is ipad mini 4, the air play hasnt been used yet.

I want to use airplay on my tv, so far I know apple tv and dongles would work.

They say 3rd party dongles are subject to lag, stability issues and compatibility issues after ios updates. Some miracast dongle claim airplay is supported?

Or get a apple tv just for airplay, would apple tv2 be enough? are 2, 3, 4 the same speed?

 

some say using airflow is the most convenient way to cast your PC screen in your room to your living room tv, as long as they are in the same network?
