Installing an aio liquid cooler

I was wanting to install an aio water cooler in this case: https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37412/silverstone-precision-series-ps14-atx-tower-case

I only have one case fan in the back of the case, I was thinking of putting in a 120mm aio cooler (corsair h80i) in the front along with another 120mm case fan at the front, will this work? Would a 240mm water cooler be better?

i have a MSI B250M Bazooka Motherboard, I just want to check that the cooler will fit before I buy it.

What CPU are you planning to use with that motherboard, and are you planning to overclock as well?

240mm push/pull would be better.  

120mm rads are useless imo

Cpu is intel i7 7700, don't plan on overclocking, atm it runs quite hot. I'm going to wait for the aio before I play games like gta V again, where it got as hot as 90 C.

You're gonna want to go 240mm. Even if you're not overclocking, single fan radiators are irrelevant in this day and age.

240mm radiator is optimal, 120 not so much.

But you won't see much difference in push/pull.

So 240mm would fit in the case no problems? Also that would leave me with only the 1 case fan

Will my case be compatible with a 240mm aio? I want to buy it so that a friend can install it for me, I don't want accidentally buy an aio that doesn't fit in my case

if 120/140mm rads were useless they wouldnt use them on GPU's and have more then decent results. Are they less optimal? Sure, but for a CPU thats not going to be overclocked at all? 120 is fine. Would prefer a beefy air cooler for the same price but alas.

The specs of the case say you should be able to fit a 240mm radiator

I had a 120mm AIO cooler for my 4790K, and the temps were pretty bad even @ stock speeds with new thermal paste.

Thanks, I was a little confused about the different section for cooling and radiator. I might go for the corsair H100i 240mm aio now. It has good warranty

There's no point in installing a water cooler. If you have the 7700 (non-K), as well as a B250 motherboard, you can't overclock anyways. Just get a decent air cooler, and it will be quieter

it highly depends on the voltages @ stock. My "Stock" z170 Board put the 6700k at 1.365 volts. Thats a LOT higher then a "stock" should be, at around 1.25V. Is it Safe? of course, but you will notice a large temp increase. Always double check ^.^

Mine was running at around 1.2. But when you are watercooling, the bigger cooling surface (120<240<280<360<420 etc) the better, and 120mm is simply not suffiecent today.

on a gpu, sure. but for a cpu, you're better off getting an air cooler for half the price and itll perform as good or better than any 120mm aio
